The former security chief of ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych Konstantin Kobzar spoke about the role of the Federal security service (FSS) in the rescue of the fugitive Ukrainian leader. About it reports news Agency UNN.

Kobzar testified via video link as a witness by the defense in the case of treason Yanukovych in Obolon court of Kyiv. According to him, when the former President with security were in the Zaporozhye region, to meet them from Donetsk and three buses left the militias to eliminate Yanukovych. With the same purpose of the ambush was located in Melitopol, a major regional center of Zaporozhye region.

“And shooting touch, to be honest, we would have held long until we would have ended ammunition. And to save the life of Yanukovych in such circumstances would be unlikely. So I decided I had to do it — I turned to my colleague from Russia, I called him. But, unfortunately, the relationship broke down. Then I was called to duty in the FSO of the Russian Federation and said that we blocked almost the life of the President Yanukovych in great danger,” explained the bard. According to him, he turned to FSO with request to assist the transportation of Yanukovych in the Crimea.

After 15 minutes he called back to FSO and called coordinates of the point where you want to arrive as quickly as possible Yanukovych with protection, and then reported on the situation of the ex-President. “I told him that I had no other choice, and it was an emergency I had, and I turned to colleagues and asked for help when moving to the Crimea, because we do not could. He said to me, “Act as you think is necessary. Perform your duties in accordance with the situation”,” — said the head of security for Yanukovych.

Upon arrival at the designated place, Yanukovych and his entourage picked up three Russian helicopter. Later they appeared in the Crimea, where he was in safety.

According to the prosecution, the treason of Yanukovych lies in the fact that after the coup of 22 February 2014, he filed a written statement addressed to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin with a request to impose on the territory of Ukraine the Russian Armed forces to restore constitutional order.
