The Chinese fantasy film “Asura” stopped showing in the cinemas a few days after the premiere due to a failure at the box office. This reports the South China Morning Post.

“Asura” was announced as the most expensive film in Chinese history. The budget of the film amounted to 750 million yuan ($112 million). Worked on the film 2.5 thousand people from all over the world, and the post-production “Asura” took more than a year.

The premiere took place on 13 July. Over the weekend, the film has collected a total of 49 million yuan ($7.3 million), and on Sunday, the producers of “Asura” decided to remove the movie from the rental.

The film-makers said that due to low numbers of the fantasy Saga a responsible group of Internet trolls that spoil the rating of “Asura” in the network with low grades and reviews.

In “Asura” tells the story of a shepherd who turns out to be the reincarnation of one of the heads of the warrior king of the Asuras. The latter wants to conquer the higher worlds.
