Facebook will not delete posts of users with denial of the Holocaust. About the founder of the social network mark Zuckerberg told the publication Recode.
“I am a Jew, and there is a group of people who deny that the Holocaust was. It offends me deeply, but I don’t think our platform needs to remove such messages. I think there are things that some people are incorrectly informed, but I don’t think they are wrong deliberately,” he said.
“It’s hard to question someone’s intention and understand it. I don’t think Facebook should be the people who decide what is true and what is not. You can have a social network page, and if you don’t want to inflict damage on anyone and don’t attack anyone then you can place this content, even if people may disagree with it or find it offensive,” explained Zuckerberg.
In 2017, the court of the Austrian town of Feldkirch sentenced a man who denied the Holocaust, to 12 months probation. On his page in Facebook wrote to the convict that the mass murder of Jews in gas chambers, held on the orders of Hitler during the Holocaust, is a story invented by the Jews themselves. “Thus, the defendant violated the anti-Nazi laws in Austria,” — said in the decree of the court.
During the Third Reich of the German Nazis and later their allies in European countries were killed about six million Jews. The mass murder was carried out in accordance with the program of so-called “final solution of the Jewish question” adopted by the German authorities. Data on the number of Holocaust victims and testimonies of genocide recorded in the materials of the Nuremberg process.
