Washington demanded that Japanese oil companies to cease oil imports from Iran. It is reported by Japanese newspaper Nikkei.
According to the publication, in October the oil company of Japan, such as JXTG Holdings and Idemitsu Kosan, will finally complete the delivery of Iranian oil, and as a substitute will switch to importing raw materials from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. According to the newspaper, the US demanded that the Japanese oil traders to stop supplying Iranian oil to America would resume sanctions against Iran. Otherwise, companies are threatened with large fines.
In turn, Japanese banks, MUFG Bank, and Mizuho Bank announced that it was ceasing to commit the transaction associated with the import of oil from Iran, which is why the purchase of Iranian raw material national oil companies is almost impossible.

Later, the Minister of Finance Steven Mnuchin announced that sanctions will be introduced against countries that continue to import Iranian oil.
In 2015 Iran and the six States mediators reached agreement on the terms of Iran’s nuclear program. The document has imposed certain restrictions on the activity of Tehran in the nuclear field in exchange for the lifting of U.S. sanctions and the EU against the Islamic Republic. In 2016, the agreement had enabled Iran to begin exporting oil.
