Ukrainian “Naftogaz” has expressed its readiness to conclude an agreement with Russia’s Gazprom in exchange for a payment of $ 12 billion. This was announced by commercial Director of the Ukrainian company Yuri Vitrenko in Facebook.
According to him, these funds, the Ukrainian company intends to sue the “Gazprom” in the framework of the new proceedings in the Stockholm arbitration. “As we said “Gazprom” at the trilateral meeting, the settlement agreement already adopted court decisions is not possible. It is even contrary to the essence of the settlement agreements, it was necessary for them to agree to a final decision by the court,” — said Vitrenko, noting that the request of the world on previous trials is too late.
Commenting on the possibility of global agreement on new trials, a top Manager said that the amount of compensation according to him Ukrainian side is estimated at $ 12 billion. “Our demands are reasonable, we are confident in our legal position. If “Gazprom” wants “settlement agreement” this new arbitration process, it may in an extrajudicial procedure to pay us the compensation,” he wrote.
About readiness to conclude the agreement with Gazprom earlier said the head of “Naftogaz” Andrey Kobelev. According to him, the company is ready to settle, if this solution will not harm the talks between the two countries on a new transit agreement. The Russian side has acknowledged that the issue during the tripartite talks was addressed, but specifics on it yet.
The Stockholm arbitration court on the consideration of the two disputes “Naftogaz” and “Gazprom” agreed that the Russian company is Ukrainian of 2.56 billion dollars. “Gazprom” considers this decision is illegal and are trying to challenge it in court, Swedish, Ukrainian, on the contrary, requires the execution of the decision of the Stockholm arbitration, requiring European countries to freeze the assets of Russian companies.
