Kiev is working on the introduction of sanctions against Russian ports in the Black sea. This was stated in interview to TV channel “112 Ukraine” the Minister of infrastructure Vladimir Omelian.
“We are negotiating with our European and American partners, so that appropriate sanctions have been applied to the black sea ports of Russia due to the blockade of the sea of Azov and Ukrainian ports in the sea of Azov”, — he said.
Omeljan stressed that these sanctions should be a response to the construction of Crimean bridge. “The last consideration in the U.S. Congress on the extension of the sanctions list, and even the possibility of recognition of Russia as a country that sponsors terrorism more than adequate response to all the excesses of Russia”, — he stressed.
On 28 June, the Deputy Minister of defence of Ukraine Admiral Igor kabanenko, on 28 June, said that Kiev should prepare for the worst scenarios in the sea of Azov. On the same day, a spokesman for the State border service of Ukraine, Colonel Oleg Slobodyan reported that the Ukrainian border guards in the sea of Azov lacks the resources and technology to counter Russia.
On may 29 Ukraine said that preparing sanctions on Russian, Ukrainian and Western companies that were involved in the construction of Crimean bridge. Kiev hopes that the US and the EU will support them.
Crossing through the Kerch Strait was opened on may 15. Linking the Taman and Kerch bridge was the longest in Russia — 19 kilometers. Its construction cost the Federal budget at 228 billion rubles.
