Raised from the bottom of the Barents sea M3 Lee American tank of world war II will be restored in Murmansk, told TASS in the press service of the Northern fleet.
“The specialists repair-restoration battalion have already begun to clean the body” — said the commander of the Navy Admiral Nikolai Evmenov. The work plan will depend on the results of the evaluation of components and assemblies.
The tank is assumed to be equipped with small arms for the crew members.
This instance the M3 Lee drove in the USSR on the transport ship “ballot” in 1943. In the Barents sea, near the island Kil’din the ship sank.
From the bottom of the tank was raised on Board the multipurpose vessel logistics management professionals working in search and rescue work.
In July last year at the parade devoted to Navy day in Severomorsk participated in the U.S. Sherman tank that was raised from the bottom of the Barents sea in the summer of 2016. For the year the tank was completely restored and moved in front determining its own course.
