Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that limits the duration of advertising time in the program increases from 15 to 20 percent. The corresponding document was published on the official portal of legal information.
Thus, the TV channels will be able to allocate for advertising to 12 minutes per hour. However, if the channel broadcasts 24 hours a day, advertising in television programs should not exceed 216 minutes, which corresponds to the previously set limit.
The same law adopted by the state Duma on July 25 and approved by the Federation Council on July 28, the channels can interrupt children’s and educational programmes. This stipulates that the audience will not see the commercials “alcoholic products, military products and weapons, of drugs, of gambling and betting services under the contract rents, including the contract of life maintenance of a dependent, the activities of mediators”.
