Russian doctors eight kilometers wheeled stretcher with a patient on the rails

Paramedics and rescuers eight kilometers rolled on the tracks of the stretcher with the 67-year-old resident of the village of Catino Nizhny Novgorod region, which required immediate hospitalization. About it reports FlashNord with reference to the press service of the regional Ministry of health.

The incident occurred on 6 August. According to the Agency, the neighbor of the pensioner called an ambulance and reported that the woman’s paralyzed. Went to call the medics could reach by car to the village Dolgovo four kilometers from the house of the patient. Called to the aid of the regional transportation emergency management also was not able to drive on the road in this marshy and wooded areas, and the rest of the way everyone had to go on foot.

When rescuers and paramedics reached the woman and put it on the improvised stretcher on wheels that are put on the rails and rode from village to village Tatina Swamp — there they waited for the ambulance that delivered the patient to the Central city clinical hospital.

All the way from the ambulance station to the hospital the doctors took almost 12 hours. In the clinic the pensioner was placed in intensive care, her condition was assessed as serious but stable.

The village of Catino with a population of a few dozen people virtually cut off from the outside world. To go from here can only be on one of two trains that run to the town three times a week.
