The Chairman of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Leonid Slutsky said the investigation of “Novaya Gazeta” about an expensive mansion with his daughter Irina. His point of view he outlined in a personal Telegram channel.
The MP stressed that he worked in business until 2000, where earned “everything you need”. After obtaining the Deputy mandate Slutsky sold or transferred in trust friends of the property.
“Answer: the house was built for her [daughter’s] husband-to-be, plus a little has helped me. She and her husband have a business, which is enough for a family and car, and even some charity. And second, the “New” disingenuous, leading the market value of the house that our children, starting a relationship many years ago, built from scratch, which is several times cheaper,” — said Slutsky.
The Deputy saw in the investigation of the newspaper’s desire “to rivet a scandal out of thin air” so that the ratings did not fall in the holiday period. Slutsky added that August 1 has received a request from the journalist of the edition Olesya Smigun, which in the categorical form has demanded to answer questions about the property of his daughter. “Ultimatums do not accept, so wait for the article, and now if you please, because I have nothing to hide,” concluded the MP.
Earlier on August 10, “Novaya Gazeta” published an investigation about the luxury real estate the daughter of a Deputy in the Moscow settlement “Millennium Park”. The cost of one such house without decoration is about 140 million rubles. The mansion was purchased in 2014, when the daughter of a parliamentarian, he held the position of assistant editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar and could not purchase a home for their money. Slutsky, according to the Declaration, lives on the salary of the Deputy, so he would have to save for a two-storey manor to daughter for at least 25 years.
Previously, the Fund of struggle against corruption (FBK) found the Slutsky undeclared three-storey penthouse with acres of land on the ruble, which he rented for the last 10 years.
