Saudi Arabia will strike Iran if he will block the Strait of Hormuz. This statement was made by Saudi energy Minister Ibrahim al Muhanna, reports Al Arabiya.
According to him, Tehran has no authority to close the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, Northern coast which belongs to Iranians, and South to the United Arab Emirates and Oman. If Iran decides to block it, the UN Security Council authorizes military intervention, says al Muhanna. He also added that sanctions against Tehran are unlikely to be discontinued.
August 27, the Press TV channel, conveyed the words of Iranian Navy General Alireza of Tangsiri that Tehran fully controls the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz and is ready to defend its waters. In addition, the report said the control over the Gulf of Oman. “We have a message for our Muslim neighbors. We have repeatedly stated that they are ready to lend you a brotherly hand and believe that the Persian Gulf is our home in which we can ensure safety,” said Tangsiri.
General Secretary Mike Pompeo in turn, said on Twitter that Iran does not have the right to establish control over the Strait of Hormuz, which refers to international waters.
On 27 August it was reported that Iran and Syria agreed to defend themselves from enemies, and to cooperate in the military sphere. In Tehran said that the country will not allow anyone to harm their friendship.
