The CEC of Russia prepared for the possible holding of a nationwide referendum on the question of raising the retirement age, said the CEC Chairman, Ella Pamfilova. It is reported TASS on Wednesday, August 29.
“If the referendum takes place, we are ready in all aspects, including financial, [know] that we do, any amendments to the budget to make,” said Pamfilova.
According to her, the Department has calculated and the possible financial costs of voting.
According to the law for the organization of a referendum, the initiators must register the group with the same question at least 43 regions. In this case, two groups with similar issues within the region was to be.
Earlier Wednesday, President Vladimir Putin announced the easing of the provisions of the pension reform, which in mid-June announced the Cabinet of Ministers. In a televised address to the citizens the head of state said that the authorities intend to reduce the retirement for women to 63 years, as was in the original draft, up to 60 years in the new version.
Vladimir Putin also assured that the main objective of the reform is to ensure the sustainability and financial stability of the pension system of Russia for years to come.
