Law enforcement authorities detained two employees of the correctional colony in Tatarstan, suspected of beating a prisoner. On Thursday, August 30, according to the regional Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR).
“According to preliminary version, August 2018 in Kazan, employees of the penal colony №18 (IR-18) had beaten one of the inmates, causing bodily injury in the form of multiple bruises”, — stated in the message.
On 27 August on suspicion of committing the crime, was detained by operational officers of IK-18 of the regional Department of Federal service of execution of punishments (FSIN), a 30-year-old Lenar Gasov and Andrey Semenov.
A criminal case was initiated under article “excess of powers of office with application of violence”. Suspect charged, but guilty they are not guilty. The court at the request of the investigator sent both under house arrest. Soon the investigator intends to ask the court to change the measure of restraint in custody.
“During the investigation, there is one fact of beating prisoners. So, in 2015, Gazov struck several blows with a wooden object on various body parts of a prisoner. On this fact criminal case”, — noted in the TFR.
On 30 August it became known that three prisoners Belgorod IR-7 complained of constant torture by the prison staff.
