The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev was awarded the orders of Russian businessmen Alisher Usmanov and Vagit Alekperov. On it informs news Agency Uza.
Uzbek leader Usmanov was awarded the order “El Yurt respect” (“National recognition and respect”) for his contribution to the development of relations between that Republic and Russia, the implementation of major projects in Uzbekistan, the establishment of the country’s spiritual and educational complexes, assisting in the development of sports and tourist potential of Uzbekistan, as well as a sincere love for the Motherland (Usmanov is a native of the city Chust of the Namangan region).
The President of “LUKOIL” Alekperov was awarded the order “Dustlik” (“Friendship”). It is noted that he has made a great contribution to the development of the oil and gas industry and improved utilization of hydrocarbon resources, the introduction into the sector of advanced, innovative technologies for the extraction and deep processing of raw materials, increase export potential of Uzbekistan, and also for the implementation of major strategic projects and assist in the training of highly qualified personnel.
On 23 August it was reported that Usmanov has invested in the development of football club Pakhtakor from Uzbekistan of around $ 20 million. It was noted that in the coming years it is planned to upgrade the stadium “Pakhtakor” — the project cost is estimated at $ 100 million.
