In Cambodia, the Australian court sentenced the Director to six years in prison for espionage, without naming whom he worked. About it reports Reuters.

The reason for the charges was the quadcopter, which 69-year-old James Ricketson launched during a rally of the opposition Party national salvation of Cambodia.

The Phnom Penh municipal court sentenced him to six years in prison for espionage and information gathering, which can harm the state in the period from December 2010 to June 2017. All the time of the investigation, Ricketson spent behind bars, as the court has rejected a petition to release him on bail.

At trial, the man was also charged that he “spoiled the reputation of Cambodia on the world stage”.

The Director traveled the country for 20 years and filmed documentaries.

“James almost 70 years, his health is not very. Our family is terrified of what could happen to him if something goes wrong in prison,” — reports the Agency the words of the family members of the convicted person. According to them, he was not a spy. “He loves Cambodia and Cambodians. He is a Director and philanthropist,” said they.
