Apple has recognized the fact of collision of an unmanned vehicle with another car on the track in the Californian County of Santa Clara, thus confirming that she is working on a new program. About it reports Reuters.
According to the Agency, the accident occurred on August 24. Lexus RX450h, which Apple has tested the autopilot, crashed into the car Nissan Leaf 2016. As Apple claims, the car moved with a speed of 1.6 kilometers per hour, and Nissan 24 kilometers per hour. As a result of collision both cars were damaged, but no injuries were reported.
Reuters notes that this is the first case when the company publicly acknowledged that it is working on a program of unmanned vehicles. Currently she owns 66th vehicles — testing was approved in California. Its competitor, Tesla has only 39 cars, and Alphabet Waymo — 88-th.
