Major Telecom operators are preparing to provide regional storage services for the execution of the “law of Spring”. It is expected that this will allow us to recoup part of the cost of increase in storage, according to “Kommersant”.
According to the newspaper, to assess the demand, the company “Megaphone” sends out a special questionnaire, in which smaller operators are prompted to specify the network parameters, including the number of subscribers, inbound and outbound, peak load forecast for these indicators at the end of 2019.
Consider the possibility to provide storage for the “Spring law” also told in MTS. The head of Rostelecom Mikhail Oseevsky already stated that the operator will keep negotiating and the traffic of the subscribers of Tele2, where he owns 45%.
According to the Director, manufacturer solutions for Telecom operators “NORSI-TRANS” Sergey Ovchinnikov, the service outsourcing is available in two types: full and partial. In the second case, small operators will have to establish systems for the removal and storage of voice, data, and content retention will be provided to major operators.
It is noted that the regional operators with the fear that the prices for such services will be high. It is also unclear technology implementation of the requirements and parameters of possible outsourcing.
Anti-terrorist amendments, known as the “Spring law”, entered into force on 1 July. Mobile operators and Internet service providers must store all telephone conversations, text messages, images, audio, video, and other communications of users within half a year if it’s phone calls or SMS, and the Internet-messages — for 30 days.
