The Estonian officer was arrested for espionage in favor of Russia

The Harju County court in Estonia arrested two people accused of treason. About it reports “Interfax” with reference to Prosecutor’s office of the country.

Espionage suspect the officer of the General staff of the defence Forces of the country of major Denis Metsavere and his father Peter Volin. They are accused of transferring the chief Directorate of the General staff of the Russian Armed forces secret data constituting a state secret.

According to the prosecution, the transmission data of the Russian intelligence was carried out for at least five years before the arrest. The Agency has not yet reported the specific information involved.

The commander of Forces of defence Riho Terras said that “the detainee has caused significant damage as Estonia and allies.”
