Manifestations of anti-Semitism in the Russian Jews were among the others not. This is evidenced commissioned by the Russian Jewish Congress study of “Levada-center”, says RBC.

The reasons that formed such an attitude to the Jews, analysts say the fact that they live in the country relatively little — 1.5 million people. Moreover, the Jews almost never mark their national identity that would distinguish them from the General mass of citizens.

However, 17.6 percent of respondents center said the opposite : they believe that over the past five years, the number of cases of anti-Semitism increased.

In addition, according to the study, Russians are increasingly showing “demonstrative yudofiliya”, to avoid being suspected of anti-Semitism.

Still, the vast majority of respondents (80 percent) believes that the problem of negative attitudes towards Jews in modern Russia is not as acute as in the Soviet period. It is associated with emphasized the friendly relations of the leadership of the country to Israel, as a passive anti-Semitism, defined by the prevalence of negative jokes about the Jews, saved.

“If at the state level there will be a rotation to anti-Semitism, it will immediately lead to his rise in the field,” summarize the researchers.
