Russia is not at war with a potential enemy, superior in number of ships, by traditional methods, writes on the pages of the weekly “Star” the military expert of the magazine “Arsenal of the Fatherland” Alex Leonov.
“We will not fight with a potential enemy who surpasses us in the number of ships using traditional methods “fleet on fleet”. We will destroy his ships and submarines, modern anti-ship complexes at the distant approaches” — said the expert.
According to him, the Russian rocket complexes “Caliber” has shown high efficiency in Syria. Also Russia has anti-submarine variants of “Caliber” sea and air-based and naval aviation and videoconferencing gets a new cruise missile KH-35E and Kh-32.
“The emergence of on duty new hypersonic ASM (anti-ship missile — approx. “Ribbon.ru”), “Dagger” is not only possible to increase the efficiency of interaction between air force and Navy to combat the GAC (naval strike group — approx. “Ribbon.ru”) of a potential enemy, but also became a forerunner of the emergence of another hypersonic missile — “Zircon”,” writes Lenkov.
He noted that the main vector of future development of the Russian Navy is to build a large series of ships of the ocean and distant sea areas, including universal aircraft carriers, and in addition in the Arsenal of the Russian Navy hypersonic RCC and the appearance of a wig, armed with such RCC.
Thus Lenkov reacted to an article of the American magazine The National Interest, which first appeared in 2016, and re-published in August 2018, which was considered a possible sea battle between battleship class Iowa and Soviet (Russian) cruiser class “Kirov”. “Underestimation, and reassessment of, the armed forces of the enemy are equally harmful”, — the expert believes.
In July Lenkov said that the tanks M1A2 Abrams (USA), Leopard 2 (Germany), Char Leclerc (France) and Merkava (Israel) leading in the West ratings, as compared with the Russian machine T-72, T-80 and T-90 of the first production releases.
