Many political parties of Sweden believe that it is necessary to block construction of the pipeline “Nord stream-2”. It is reported by Sveriges Radio.
“Nord stream-2″ is a bad offer in terms of energy policy and the environment, and in terms of security policy. We actively advocate that by all possible means to stop this project”, — said the representative of the Moderate coalition party’s EU Affairs Karin Enstrom.
The same opinion was expressed by MEP from Christian democratic party of Sweden Lars Adaktusson, Chairman of the green party in the Council for EU Affairs in the Parliament Jonas Eriksson and member of the Council of the European Union and the Left party MP Jens Holm. According to the politicians, Russia does not respect international law. They also noted that they support the European Commission’s decision to amend the law because it will allow you to block the project.
The project “Northern stream-2” involves the construction of a gas pipeline between Russia and Germany, which will run under the Baltic sea. The total capacity of the project is estimated at 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The pipeline is scheduled for late 2019.
