The highest unemployment rates recorded in some regions of the North Caucasus, in Altai and in Tuva. In these regions the value of the index amounted to less than 20 points. This is evidenced by the results of a study of RIA Rating, RIA Novosti reported.
The results of the calculations, the unemployment situation in Russia is characterized by a high degree of heterogeneity. The index value ranges from 10.5% to 91,0 (the higher the index value, the more favorable situation on the labor market — approx. “Of the tape.ru”).
Five of regions-leaders retained their positions in 2016. In the first place was Moscow (91,0), followed by Saint Petersburg (89,3), for them is the Moscow region (more than 80), Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (74,8) and Tatarstan(69,6). These regions showed high levels of wages and capacity for work, as well as a short time job search.
The study is based on the index of labour market in the regions of the Russian Federation by the end of 2017. With its calculation takes into account nine indicators, including the level of remuneration, employment, working conditions and capacity of the labour market.
At the end of August it became known that the unemployment rate set a historic low in the history of Russia since 1991. The number of unemployed persons fell by almost two and a half thousand and amounted to 684 760. The decrease in the number of unemployed Russians is connected with shortage of manpower as the labour market got a small generation of the 1990-ies.
However, on 6 September it was reported that half of Russians are concerned about the rising unemployment. The Russians seem to be more concern almost all issues related to their welfare. In particular, they are worried about rising prices, the stratification of society into rich and poor, lack of access to free education.
