Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Minister of economic development Maxim Oreshkin find out why the Department has not allocated money for the production of ships for the carriage of goods and passengers between Kamchatka and Sakhalin. The statement came during a meeting of the state Council Presidium on realization of strategic tasks in order of priority development of the region, the talks were broadcast live on TV channel “Russia 24”.
Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev said that resources in the state budget for these purposes has been found, however, proposals for the reallocation of funds in the Ministry of economic development did not support it. “The Minister is here, can ask him to still support the proposal?” he wanted to know.
Putin agreed and asked. what the problem is. The Minister was not aware and promised to investigate. “But you have come to the meeting on the Far East, you should be aware of this problem”, — said the President and demanded to find out and report back.
Earlier, on 10 September during a meeting Putin has declared that the inhabitants of the Far East must be in demand and earn a decent wage. He also assured that the government will continue to take measures for accessibility of air travel for residents of the Far East. The President noted that the citizens have already felt positive changes in this area.
