By the beginning of next year, GDP growth may slow down to one percent and below. As reported TASS, this forecast was shared by the Minister of economic development of Russia Maxim Oreshkin on the sidelines of the Eastern economic forum (WEF).
The slowdown will begin in the third quarter of this year. According to forecasts of the Minister, the growth in the third and fourth quarter will not exceed 1.9 percent.
“This is due to the increased uncertainty, volatility in financial markets. All this, of course, not the background, in which growth could accelerate,” — said the Minister
Previously, the Ministry forecasted that by the end of the year, GDP growth will range from 1.6 to 2.1 percent. However, even in such a scenario there is a chance to overcome the mark of 100 trillion rubles by the end of 2018.
