The weakening of the ruble caused by the volatility in global markets will end soon. According to TASS, this statement was made by Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolychev.
According to him, the ruble will be aligned to the end of this year.
“It depends on the situation on global markets. In many ways, what we are seeing in Russia is a continuation of what we are seeing in other emerging markets. It is rarely a longer period. Until the end of the year, most likely, that’s for sure,” said Kolychev.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry Maxim Oreshkin has linked the weakening of the ruble with a short sharp outflow of capital from the country. Soon, in his opinion, the situation will go in the opposite direction. In this case, the equilibrium exchange rate of the ruble in the absence of purchases of foreign currency for the Ministry of Finance and the current oil price is about 50 rubles per dollar
