Russia has fully overcome the dependence on the supply of Ukrainian engines for warships and helicopters, reports TASS statement by Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov.

“The issue of dependence on supplies from Ukraine will be closed, and closed permanently. All pain points that we experienced in 2014, completed. It was mostly engines for helicopters from the company “Motor Sich” and turbine installations, gearboxes for ships classes “Corvette” and “frigate”,” — said the official.

According to Borisov, Saturn, Klimov plant and “United engine Corporation” has completely solved these problems. “Now to end testing, certification of this type of equipment, since the current supply is carried out of the engines of the Russian production”, — said Deputy Prime Minister.

The official added that Russia does not depend on the supply of Ukrainian electronics. “Much difficulty in replacing this item, although it is very wide, it was not the Russian industry,” — said Borisov.

In addition, the Vice Prime Minister said that Russia has replaced French thermal imagers for armored vehicles for domestic, and also made to overcome the direct dependence on the supply of foreign electronic component base for space industry and nuclear energy.

“But I do not exclude that in the future we will buy individual components in different countries. The world is multipolar, light a wedge has not converged in Europe and America. There are very good deals of South East Asia, primarily China, Malaysia, Taiwan, where today the main focus of high-tech production,” — said Borisov.

In September it became known that the company is a supplier of marine equipment IPU (“Marine propulsion system”) is considering equipping the small missile ships of project 22800 (code “Karakurt”) Chinese diesel engines.

In the same month, border patrol ship “Flawless” project 22460 built by shipbuilding firm “Almaz” for the FSB of Russia, have to replace diesel CHD622V20CR produced in China, because of interferences.

In July the head of Aviacenter “Rostec” Anatoly Serdyukov said that the helicopter of the new generation of AHL (Advanced Heavy Lift) will get the engines of the Ukrainian producer “Motor Sich”, as the lead developer in the project is the Chinese side. Then the Manager noted that “in large helicopters the most difficult is not so much the engine, as the gearbox and the overall design”, which is responsible for Russia.

In may 2015 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine denounced the agreement with Russia on cooperation in the military sphere. At the same time, the Ukrainian government announced the termination of military-technical cooperation with Moscow.
