The court of appeal of England has dismissed the appeal of Ukraine on the decision of the superior court, which ordered her to pay the debt to Russia in three billion dollars. As reported TASS, the claim of Moscow sent for a new trial.
“This appeal is granted. The appellant is allowed to defend the claim in the amount set by the court of Appeal decision”, — quotes Agency the words of the judge.
Now, according to English law, the case will be returned for review in London’s High court, which had satisfied the claim of Russia has ordered Ukraine to pay the debt on Eurobonds issued in December 2013, in full.
The Russian Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Anton Siluanov said that Moscow will appeal to the UK Supreme court. “I hope that the next, higher level to finally take an objective decision,” he said.
In December 2015 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine introduced a moratorium on public debt service, including in Russia redeemed Eurobonds.
