Ukraine and Russia are in a state of existential conflict. This was stated by Ukrainian foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin at the forum “Yalta European strategy” in Kiev, Saturday, September 15, RIA Novosti reported.

“There is no conflict that cannot be solved, but what is happening between us and the Russians, is the question of our existence, it’s an existential conflict, that is, it is completely different from when there is a fight for something else,” he said.

The Minister stressed that the question “to be or not to be” unacceptable trade-offs.

30 Aug Klimkin said that his office had prepared all the documents for the termination of the Treaty of friendship, cooperation and partnership with Russia on behalf of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. However, on 3 September, Vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Iryna Gerashchenko said that we are talking about the non-renewal of the agreement, not of his gap. According to her, the President ordered not only to prepare the documents for extension.

In Russia said that the agreement with Ukraine already has no meaning, so the gap will not lead to serious consequences.
