The head of “Naftogaz Ukraine” Andrew Kobolyev has estimated the potential losses from the construction of the gas pipeline “Nord stream-2”. The project he called a heavy blow to the economy of their country, reports on Saturday, September 15, the Agency UNN.
“If to speak about volumes, is three billion dollars a year. Now it is those revenues that we receive for the transit of gas through Ukraine. If the “Nord stream-2″, for example, now it will start, then after two years, the project can be completed, and once it is completed, all the calculations show that the transit of gas through Ukraine will not be”, — he said.
KOBOLEV explained that three billion dollars — three percent of the country’s GDP.
The head of “Naftogaz” also said that “Nord stream-2” will begin the transit of gas will go to the “Turkish stream” and the rest for the new pipeline.
“Nord stream-2” gas pipeline project between Russia and Germany, which will run under the Baltic sea. The total capacity of the project is estimated at 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year. It will give Russia the opportunity to increase gas supplies to Europe by reducing the transit via Ukraine.
