Ukraine was not allowed to meet NATO

The head of the defense Ministry of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak refused the admission to the Ministerial meeting of NATO. On this edition of “European truth” said the Deputy head of mission of Ukraine to NATO for defence Affairs Sergey Mukosi.

According to him, Poltorak was asked by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg allowed to attend the meeting, which takes place on 3 and 4 October in Brussels. In response, the Ukrainian Minister sent a letter in which explained in detail why he will not be able to attend the meeting. “The main thing that the letter did not remain unanswered,” — said the Deputy head of mission of Ukraine to NATO on defence issues.

Mukosi claims that the reason for the refusal was the position of Hungary is that the Alliance “can do nothing”. “This is the basic principle of the Alliance, even a small country can block a collective decision that are initiated even allies such as the United States,” he said.

Relations between Ukraine and Hungary escalated after the publication in the media a video in which residents of Beregovo get Hungarian passport, oath of allegiance of Hungary and Consulate staff advise them not to tell the Ukrainian authorities. Later it turned out that residents were given no passports and the packet of documents for obtaining Hungarian citizenship.

In Hungary noted that in the case of expulsion of the Hungarian Consul from the city of Budapest will receive the Ukrainian diplomat of the same level. On 3 October the foreign Ministry of Ukraine announced the intention to transfer to Hungary a note to the Consul of the coast left the country.
