Staff research of the Digital Awareness UK (DAUK) found that pupils aged 11 years is often used memes about rape, the Holocaust and slavery, and to impress friends. It is reported by The Sun.
According to experts, more than a third of British boys aged 11 to 18 years share with each other racist or homophobic images. Among girls of this age group only 17 percent are addicted to a similar meme.
The study also showed that 73 per cent of boys and 70 percent girls saw offensive memes in the group chat, and 40% of boys see such content on a daily basis.
Co-founder DAUK Emma Robertson (Emma Robertson) noted that students share their racist and homophobic meme to raise their status among their peers or just for fun.
At the end of September the Swedish advertising regulator has recognized the meme “bad guy” is sexist. The Supervisory authority considered that the image depicts degrading stereotypes about men and women.
