Government policies to de-dollarize the economy does not affect citizens owning assets in the U.S. currency, said Finance Minister, first Deputy Prime Minister Anton Siluanov in interview to TV channel “Russia 1”.
“We’re not talking about the situation with the dollars stored in Bank accounts. Citizens who have such foreign currency accounts will calmly respond to all our proposals for settlements under foreign trade contracts, as nobody intends to exclude dollar, dollar circulation, no one is going to force you to change dollar savings in ruble or something else. This policy has been, and will continue,” — said Siluanov.
According to him, the decline in the dollar’s role in the Russian economy need for stability in international payments.
The Minister also spoke about the measures that, according to government estimates, should encourage Russian exporters to move to settlements in other currencies. First of all, this tax benefit.
