In the capital of the Chechen Republic Grozny has opened the Avenue Mohammed Ali. This was reported by the correspondent of”.ru” on Friday, October 5th.
The opening was timed to the 200th anniversary of the founding of the city. The project of improvement of the Avenue and adjacent territory with a total area of about 14 hectares developed by KB Strelka. The aim of the project was to ensure the comfort of pedestrians, cyclists and public transport passengers. Adjacent to prospect the territory was divided into three parts, each with its own concept. To increase plant diversity and additional greening of the city with arid climate along the Avenue planted shrubs and trees giving shade. To separate the flow of pedestrians paved bike path.
In front of the shopping center on Prospekt organized a children’s Playground, pergola, dry fountain and an area with a characteristic for Chechnya plants: Abies Nordmann, medlar, hornbeam. In the square in front of the local College planted the ash trees, plane trees, maples and alder.
Also the 200th anniversary of the founding of the city coincided with the opening in Grozny of the Park named after Hussein bin Talal on the project of Strelka and Norwegian Snøhetta. Sidewalks paved on the basis of “national trails”. Planted over five hundred trees and shrubs, installed new lighting. In addition to recreational areas, playgrounds and sports grounds in the Park there was an artificial pond and an amphitheater for events.
