Irish fighter of the mixed style Conor McGregor spoke out on Twitter after the defeat of the Russian Habib Nurmagomedov in the battle for the title of champion of the ultimate fighting championship (UFC).
“We lost the fight but won the battle. The war continues,” wrote McGregor.
Nurmagomedov in the tournament won UFC 229 McGregor choke in the fourth round, and defended the title of champion in the lightweight division. After the match, the Irish expressed the desire to fight a rematch against the Russian.
UFC President Dana white, responding to a press conference on the issue of re-Nurmagomedov fight and McGregor, stated that “I will try to keep these guys away from each other.”
For Nurmagomedov, this victory was the 27th in his career in 27 fights. McGregor lost for the fourth time, with 21 victory.
