The self-proclaimed Donetsk people’s Republic (DPR) man, who worked as a bartender in a cafe in Donetsk, was sentenced to 14 years imprisonment for espionage in favor of Ukraine. This is with reference to the Prosecutor General of the Republic reports Donetsk news Agency.
“The verdict of the Military Tribunal on the rights of the Supreme court of DNR citizen K. found guilty of crimes under part 3 of article 29 (“Preparation for crime and attempted crime”), article 321 (“Espionage”) and article 141 (“trafficking of special technical means intended for secret information”) of the Criminal code DND”, — stated in the message.
The investigation established that a resident of the city of Druzhkovka, working as a bartender in a cafe in Donetsk, in October 2016 was set out in the controlled by Ukrainian authorities of the red army, which was recruited by the staff of the security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and given the task of collecting information at their place of work. In early January 2017 SBU gave him the technical means intended for secret receipt of the audio information, which he discreetly mounted under the table for the visitors of the cafe and turned it into voice recording mode.
Back in Krasnoarmeysk, the man handed the audio recording of employees of SBU. “The defendant appointed punishment in the form of 14 years of imprisonment”, — concluded the Prosecutor’s office. Details of the arrest of a man and his trial in the message is not given.
In July the Supreme court of the DNI has issued a death sentence to the participant of an armed group which in 2014-2015 are engaged in on the territory of the Republic kidnapping, robbery, extortion and murder. One person was sentenced to death, eight to life imprisonment, another member of the gang got 13 years in prison. The convicts operated under the guise of membership in the public organization “the Cossack Union “the don Cossacks””.
