The call was linked with the appearance on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of the petition with the requirement to deport all dual citizens, Ukrainian and Hungarian, national. In addition, the concern of Budapest raised fears Kiev’s plans to establish a military base in the Transcarpathian region. Nepop explained that the leadership of the country has nothing to do with the activities of the “Peacemaker” and a petition on the Council website, and the placement of a military base in the Carpathians the interests of the inhabitants of the region.
The current crisis in relations between Ukraine and Hungary provoked the incident with the alleged distribution of the Hungarian Consulate in Beregovo, Transcarpathian region of Ukrainian passports to citizens, although it was probably the other documents.
