The head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov stated about resignation and sent an appeal to President Vladimir Putin. It is reported by TASS on Thursday, October 11.
“This is my personal decision, it is verified in all respects, I do not plan to participate in elections of the President in 2019, although in accordance with the law have such an opportunity. In my opinion, the leaders of the region in adulthood must make a decision about the completion of the work and should leave with dignity,” he said.
Earlier Thursday, the Governor of Transbaikalian edge Natalya Zhdanova has declared that leaves the post at own will. She stressed that this decision is not due to “vicious attacks” on her.
Later on early resignation was announced by the Governor of Kursk region Alexander Mikhailov, who served as head of region for 18 years. He did not explain the reasons for leaving.
Khamitov headed Bashkiria in 2010.
