Hackers have lured lovers porn thousands of dollars

Several UK residents have become victims of hacker-extortionists who threatened to distribute personal videos with their participation. As reported by BleepingComputer, criminals received a few thousand dollars.

The grouping of extortioners began to send e-mails with threats on October 10. They contained messages about hacking the user’s computer. The hackers claimed that they have video from a web camera on which the user is viewing porn sites. The victim offered to pay a ransom in bitcoins.

Two days four victims were transferred to the Blackmailers more than 2.3 thousands of dollars (over 170 thousand). While the criminals is not known, and their activities are not stopped. Earlier the same group had a few weeks of the victims from the Netherlands more than 40 thousand euros (about three million).

Experts report that pornoamature have improved their tools. If they had previously threatened the victim, launching computer viruses, now they also pretend to be a hacked account e-mail. The user receives a threatening letter allegedly from his private address to which a message is dropped. In the subject line, as a rule, also contains an email address and an indication of the timing of the payment.

Earlier it became known about the hacker who was blackmailing 82-year-old PR man ed Eisen (Ed Eisen), threatening to distribute a video where the man watches porn. The criminal demanded seven thousand dollars foreclosures (450 thousand). The extortion attempt was unsuccessful, as it became clear that Eisen does not look erotic movies.
