The acting head of the Republic of Khakassia Michael Razvozhaev has asked election Commission of the Republic to withdraw from the court the claim about cancellation of elections of the head region of the candidate from the Communist party Valentina Konovalova. This was reported on the website of the Republican government.
He acknowledged that the nomination Konovalov was flawed. “Once again — and the Prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Khakassia and the Election Commission of the region acted strictly in accordance with the requirements of the law, and their decisions are legally flawless. But whether on the basis of technical, procedural pitfalls to deprive of the ability of voters themselves to speak out against a particular candidate?” asked Razvozhaev.
“People can do well to assess the advantages and disadvantages of each candidate, no need to do it for them. Select the head of the region is the right of inhabitants of Khakassia”, — said the head of the Republic.
A claim for cancellation of registration Konovalov in the elections was prepared by the election Commission by order of the Prosecutor’s office. He enrolled in the Supreme court of Khakassia of October 12, RIA Novosti. In addition, the court received a lawsuit from another candidate Alexander Mahura (Batch growth), which also requires to remove Konovalova from the election. Filed lawsuits and a Communist himself, they relate to the appeal of decisions of election Committee of Khakassia.
The second round of elections of the head of Khakassia Republic is scheduled for October 21, should participate Konovalov and Mahar. In the first round (September 9) participated and Viktor Zimin, the candidate from “United Russia”, but then none of the candidates received the required 50 percent of votes, with the result that on September 23, was appointed the second round. Due to the withdrawal of the candidature Zimin, which was announced on 21 September, the date of the elections were shifted by a month, and President Vladimir Putin instructed Razbegaevo, Vice-Minister for North Caucasus Affairs, to lead the region during this period.
