The Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) has promised to strengthen control over the price of bread, flour and bakery products, reports “Interfax”.
It is noted that the office has received several complaints from the Russians in connection with rising prices. If violations are confirmed, the territorial administration of the FAS will take measures.
In addition, the service will check the actions of the two major manufacturers of the Krasnoyarsk bread “Archlib” and “Dikhleb” — on their compliance with antitrust legislation.
These manufacturers, as reported by the “Kommersant” newspaper, warned that selling prices on the entire range of bread could increase by 8-12 percent on the background of the rising cost of wheat and, respectively, of flour. Market participants believe that gradually raising the cost of bread is expected from November 1.
