Court of the city of Winterthur in Switzerland has sentenced eight members of the local mosque. They were convicted that they are in 2016 abducted two Muslims from the same community and threatened them with death. This was reported by the newspaper The Local.
It is reported that the men attacked their victims in the mosque An-Nur. They were illegally imprisoned, beaten and threatened with death because of what they allegedly told the reporters about the extremist sermons of the Imam of the mosque. One of them forced to eat the bill, the other from severe beatings he received a concussion.
Criminals received suspended sentences up to 18 months. Two of them came from Afghanistan and Macedonia were deported and banned them from returning to Switzerland for seven years.
Imam, about radical views became known in 2016, urged their parishioners to kill and burn Muslims who don’t participate in common prayer, and actively to bring these believers. At the end of 2017, he was convicted of incitement to violence and also expelled from the country for 10 years.
The mosque, which went by the kidnappers, and the victim, was closed in 2017, after it was recognized as a center of radicalization of Muslim youth in the region. At least five of its members have left the country to Iraq and Syria to fight alongside “Islamic state” (IG, is prohibited in Russia).
