CEO of “Naftogaz of Ukraine” Yuriy Vitrenko said on his page on Facebook about collecting 18 million dollars from “Gazprom”.
“By the way, in addition to $ 2.1 billion, which is in accordance with the arbitration decision we have removed from “Gazprom” in the form of gas, we are also removed from “Gazprom” for 18 million dollars in cash” — he wrote.
Previously it was reported that “Naftogaz” has kept nine million dollars from funds overpaid “Gazprom” for gas transit, in partial repayment of the debt by the decision of the Stockholm arbitration.
In December 2017, the court has revised the pricing formula in the contract for the supply of gas to Ukraine, which led to a reduction in the cost of service of “Naftogaz”. Gazprom, in turn, refuses to execute the court decision and continues to pay for transit more than puts “Naftogaz”.
In February the Stockholm arbitration court ruled on two counter claims of “Gazprom” and “Naftogaz” debts for the supply and transit of Russian gas. The court reviewed the conditions in force at the time of the contract and ruled that the Gazprom $ 4.6 billion, and “Naftogaz” — two billion. As a result of the setoff, the Russian holding company should pay of 2.56 billion.
