Ukraine reconcile with Hungary using the “not quite appropriate” official

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said that the Ministry will introduce a new position after Budapest rename the post of “Commissioner for the region”, reports on Wednesday, October 24, “Interfax-Ukraine”.

“We agreed that following the change of name and publish it, we in our Ministry do not quite match, but the post, which will cover cross-border cooperation”, — quotes Agency Klimkin.

On 4 October Ukraine had sent the Hungarian Consul from the country that in Hungary said mirror measures.

The conflict between Kiev and Budapest escalated in September 2018, when the network has a video in which residents of the Transcarpathian region get a Hungarian passport and bring oath of allegiance to Hungary. Later it turned out that the consular officers issued passports and other documents.

Also in September, the Minister of foreign Affairs of Hungary péter Szijjártó was added to the enemies list of the Kiev “Peacemaker”. In response, the Hungarian foreign Ministry has accused the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in fomenting extremism.

In June 2018, the Hungarian government decided to introduce the post of a “foreign Minister, responsible for the development of Transcarpathian region and programme for the development of kindergartens in the Carpathian basin” after it became aware of the violation of the rights of its compatriots in the region. The Ukrainian foreign Ministry has demanded an official explanation on the decision.
