Permanent representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea Boris Babyphoto: Stanislav Yurchenko / Crimea.Realities
Residents of Crimea and Sevastopol military age should be in military registration on the territory controlled by Ukraine to avoid the threat of conscription into the Russian army. In an interview with “Crimea.Realities” said permanent representative of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in Crimea Borys Babin.
“If the person is internally displaced (IDPs), the account should become at the place of registration of the IDP certificate, and if the IDP status, you can apply to any military controlled by the [Kiev] territory,” he said.
According to Babina, the Russians will be harder to call in the Armed forces a person who is registered on the territory controlled by Kiev for legal reasons and because of political security.
In September the Monitoring mission of the UN on human rights in Ukraine published a report which stated that the Russian Armed forces in 2015 were called about 12 thousand men, living in the Crimea. The Chairman of the mission, Fiona Fraser said that Russia is subject to criminal prosecution is not willing to serve in the armed forces of the Crimean people. According to the mission, for the rejection of conscription was convicted at least nine people.
Crimea became part of Russia in March 2014 after a referendum in which the majority voted for such a decision. In Kiev refused to recognize the results of the plebiscite and I believe Peninsula Ukrainian territory, and its residents are Ukrainian citizens. Moscow, in turn, indicates compliance with the procedures for the reunification of the Crimea international law.
