Russia will defend the contract on rockets of average and small range (the INF Treaty) at the UN. This statement was made by Russian Deputy foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov in the air “First channel”.

“Today in the first Committee of the UN General Assembly the Russian Federation introduced a draft resolution in support of keeping the contract. View how countries, including U.S. allies, will behave in this situation. What will prevail: concern for the safety or allied solidarity?”, he said.

“There will be reason to drink the champagne, if we stop the destruction of the international security architecture, which is persistently carried out by the administration [of US President Donald] trump,” — said Ryabkov.

On 24 October the President of Russia Vladimir Putin said that he wants to discuss Washington’s decision on withdrawal from the INF Treaty personally with trump.

October 20, the American leader declared his country’s exit from the INF Treaty. According to him, he was forced to take such a step, as Moscow violates this agreement. He added that permits the conclusion of new deals with Russia and China.

The Russian foreign Ministry rejected the possibility of concluding a new missile Treaty and warned US about the response, not excluding, in particular, their military-technical nature.
