Ban taxi aggregators to establish the price of travel can lead to negative consequences for the entire market, said the leading players in the Moscow region (the release is at the disposal “of the Tape.ru”). Earlier this initiative was made by the Metropolitan municipality.
“The price of travel to online services now determined by the market in the interests of passengers and carriers, in agreement with the partners-taxi companies and individual entrepreneurs. A single maximum rate — the basis of online services. It allows to submit the order to the closest available driver to reduce the waiting time is up to 4-5 minutes to anywhere in the city — and form understandable to the cost of the trip, which does not change in transit,” — said in a joint statement, “Yandex.Taxi”, “Citymobil”, “Lucky” and Maxim.
According to aggregators, a legislative ban on their participation in the determination of tariffs will lead to opacity of the final price and long waiting time in car passengers. They also fear that the amendments to the law will be left without work, many drivers.
“Orders will be given to those drivers who offers the lowest price, but they can be a few dozen kilometers from the passengers. Therefore, idle run of machines will increase significantly, will increase the average price of the trip. Taxi will be available for the millions of people who use them every day,” according to the company.
Previously, the Moscow city hall has launched an initiative to change existing laws so that the taxi aggregators are unable to set their own tariffs on the trip. Instead, it will make the drivers themselves fulfilling the order. The task of the aggregator will be to publish the prices in a free access.
