Former U.S. Secretary of state Condoleezza rice has earned more than half a million dollars in real estate purchased at a reduced University program. It is reported portal Realtor.com.

In 2008, rice has taught political science and public speaking skills at Stanford University. Using a special program for University employees, rice has acquired a four-room house at a discount from market value. The sum of transaction has made 1,3 million dollars (85,4 million), said Realtor.com.

Under the program, the land under the building is owned by Stanford University, own property it can only staff or students of the institution. In connection with such restrictions, the houses on University land are usually sold at a discount of 20 to 30 percent of the market value.
