Mexican President Enrique peña Nieto has announced its willingness to take mass caravan of migrants from Central America and provide them with social guarantees. He said this in Twitter account.
“Today we are launching the plan, “You’re in my house” for Central American migrants who are already in Mexico. The plan gives them access to the programs of temporary employment, as well as medical care and schools for children,” he wrote.
Nieto noted that to use this program, only those migrants who asked for asylum and legalized stay in the country. The plan will operate in the southern States of Chiapas and Oaxaca.
According to the latest data, about three thousands of migrants have crossed the border of Honduras and Guatemala on 15 October and heading North in the direction of Mexico. Later they were joined by about 1.3 thousand people.
On October 24 it became known that the US moved the second caravan consisting of thousands of Honduran migrants. The US President Donald trump said that the United States can close the southern border of the country for migrants from Latin America and prevent them to seek asylum in the country. To this end, he sent the military to the southern border. Also the leader of the American States has threatened to cut financial aid to Latin American countries due to the migrant March.
