Russian figure skater Evgeny Medvedev commented on the failure in the short program at the stage of the world Grand Prix Skate Canada. Her words reports TSN.

“I think I just lost concentration. To be very confident — not always a good thing. It is possible that in this season I’m even willing to mistakes and bad performances. For me now everything is new,” said 18-year-old Medvedev.

Earlier on October 27 Medvedev took 7th place in the short program with 60,83 points. She failed some of the technical elements. In addition, Medvedev fell after the execution of a triple flip. The winner of the competition was Elizabeth Tuktamysheva. 22-year-old Russian scored 74,22 points.

This is the first season for Medvedeva after her move to Canada, where she trains under the guidance of a local expert Brian Orser. Previously the coach of the Russians were Russian coach Eteri Tutberidze.
