Deputy head of the Department for nonproliferation and arms control Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia Andrei Belousov said that Russia is preparing for a defensive war with the United States. He told about it at meeting of Committee of the UN General Assembly, reports TASS.

“Here recently at the meeting of the United States said that Russia is preparing for war. Yes, Russia is preparing for war, I have confirmed it,” he said after the UN voted against the draft resolution of Moscow in support of the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate range (the INF Treaty). He stressed that Moscow will protect the territorial integrity principles and the country’s population.

Belousov added that between Russia and the USA there is a huge difference. “In linguistic terms, this difference is just one word that in Russian that in English: the Russian Federation is preparing for war, and the US is preparing a war,” he said. According to him, about US intentions can be seen in the decision to withdraw from the Treaty, to build nuclear capacity and adoption of a new nuclear doctrine.

Earlier Belousov admitted that he understand the position of members of the Committee of the General Assembly.

October 21, trump said that Washington will come out of the INF Treaty, which was signed in 1987 Mikhail Gorbachev and Ronald Reagan. According to trump, Moscow violates the contract, and the United States “will develop weapons as long as Russia and China will not agree to a new deal”.
